Pink Ribbon Day

Monday, 24 November 2014
Terang and Mortlake Health Services celebrated Pink Ribbon day on Monday 27th October by showing their true colours...

By enjoying pink treats and raising a total of $457.10.

The celebration coincided with one of our twice weekly strength training sessions at the Mortlake Community Health Centre which enabled us to promote awareness for Pink Ribbon Day.

Cancer Council Victoria has run the annual campaign, which has aimed to raise awareness about breast and gynaecological cancers as well as to raise funds for prevention programs, support services and vital cancer research.

Terang and Mortlake Health Services run Strength Training classes for those who have just come out of surgery and the celebration coincided with the bi-weekly sessions. The classes which go for one hour twice a week, aim to help improve muscle strength, function and quality of life while also a way of prevention and management of chronic illnesses. Whilst helping those who have had recent surgery, classes are open to anyone wanting to improve their health and fitness.
